Descriptive and historical of the gallery
The gallery "Les Armes du Chevalier" was founded in 1978 by Jean Robert de Lavergne who after his studies in Decorative arts and in Nice Arts made concrete his passion of research and discovery of the rare objects by creating his first gallery around Paris. Shortly afterwards it opens an important boutique to the Fleas of Saint Ouen and finally he chooses to become established in the middle of Paris in prestigious "Louvre des Antiquaires".
It is in the center of the capital where it introduces such an "amateur office", one of nicest choise of old Oriental and European ceramics and glassware of the XVIIth century XVIIIth century and the beginning of XIXth century.
Consequently, they will be able to find as much popular faience as prestigious porcelains as those of Sèvres, Meissen or Paris being next to so extraordinary porcelains of Far East without forgetting the sumptuous rooms of the ancient glassware of collection.Today having helped by his wife Florence de Lavergne, specialist in historical researches, they decided together to extend their gallery, which will be in 31 Allée Boulle, always within Le Louvre des Antiquaires.
Member of the National Labour union of the Antiquarians he participates in the International fair of the Ceramic of Collection and the Arts of fire in Paris. It also displays in the International Fair of the Ancient Ceramic in Enghien in Belgium at the beginning of May, AT the Salon du Collectionneur au Grand Palais in Paris from 11 to 20 september 2009 and at the 2nd circuit of Ceramics and arts du Feu in Paris from 4 to 8 november 2009 at the Louvre des Antiquaires.
